Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was down with pneumonia last month. However, he insisted he was fine and rejected coronavirus tests. This proved to be his undoing as his health worsened and the family moved him to a military hospital in Moscow. Here, he required heart surgery due to coronavirus complications.

However, despite an improvement in his health, a close family friend revealed that he was unable to speak and remained critical.

The entire MMA world’s thoughts and prayers are with the Nurmagomedov family through these troubled times. Their only hope is for him to recover enough and go back to his home in Dagestan.
