“There was a deal on the table. But when the full deal and the whole extent got brought through, and how it was gonna play out? The budget really wasn’t there.”

Masvidal has garnered immense popularity ever since he won the celebratory ‘BMF’ Title. Thus, Masvidal’s name demands considerable monetary fruit, something which his arch-rival Kamaru agrees with.

Carrying on with the explanation of how the UFC 249 deal unfolded, Masvidal said,

“The price tag that I put out there, they didn’t wanna pay. And this other guy, who knows if he was in or not? My price wasn’t met. And for the [risk-to-reward] factor, I wanted to get compensated. And that compensation really wasn’t there, you know.”

Yet another mishap for the fight fans! We were just one signature away from witnessing one of the loudest rivalries of recent times play out inside the octagon.

However, Masvidal did not leave his fans hanging. He hinted at a possible date for his next fight, hence keeping the excitement alive.
