‘Thug Rose’ has recently had an issue with UFC president Dana White’s comments, who had claimed that although Namajunas did not want to fight for the strawweight title. She first captured the UFC title in 2017 against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, surprising fans as she stopped the then-dominant champion.

Training with Trevor Wittman and Chico Camus

Namajunas has been looking to get back to the gym and train, but the COVID-19 pandemic significantly hampered her plans. While she currently trains with her fiancee Pat Barry, who fought in the UFC, she is looking to get back to training with her main coach Trevor Wittman.

Speaking on her YouTube Live session, ‘Thug Rose’ told her fans that she plans to be in the gym real soon. She said, “I’m really excited to go into this week going forward. This is the first time I’ll be hitting pads with Trevor in a while because we were in Minnesota training with Greg Nelson. So now we’re starting with Trevor again and then sharpening up my boxing and stuff like that.”

However, it won’t be just Wittman as a former UFC fighter will be joining her camp. She said, “We’re going to be training with Chico Camus again who all-around influences me and everything like that.”

Rose Namajunas grateful for the positivity

Namajunas concluded that she is just concentrating on getting better all the time.

“Then with Pat as always, we’re getting ready. We are ready but you know, always getting better every day. So anyway, just reading some of the comments and yeah, I guess I’m just super grateful for everybody’s positive comments, even the ones that aren’t so positive.”

Rose will now look to get back to title contention, despite the recent comments from Dana White. ‘Thug Rose’ is one of the baddest women on the planet and is eager to face the new champion, Weili Zhang.

Zhang is coming off a 5-round war in March against Jedrzejczyk, with many fans expecting it to win the fight of the year award.
