Iconic UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan is one of the biggest internet personalities in the world. He has amassed a large fan following with his podcast ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. His discussions with celebrity guests often go viral on YouTube and other social media sites.

Rogan is one big supporter of the right to express yourself freely and strongly opposes censorship of any kind. Recently, the microblogging platform Twitter is under scrutiny regarding the same. This comes after Elon Musk attempted to bid to purchase the platform for $43 billion.

In an old episode of his podcast, Rogan invited the then Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and safety lead director and chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde along with YouTuber Tim Pool. They discussed and dissected Twitter’s rules and their violations.

Rogan scrutinized Twitter for being partial in its approach in front of arguably the most important people in the company.

Rogan said, “Well she was banned permanently but let’s be clear about what happened. Could you explain to me what did she actually do?”

Joe Rogan reminded Dorsey and Gadde of incidents where the organization has specifically gagged the voice of one side of the spectrum.

He added, “In this case of Megan Murphy, it does not make sense to me. That seems like she should be allowed to express herself.”

Twitter’s chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde tried to explain the company’s point of view. Therefore, she detailed how Twitter only takes action against “targeted harassment.”

Rogan doesn’t buy into her logic and explains the different perspectives on such grave matters. He describes the conservative and the progressive views on similar topics and claims that Twitter only allows one to speak freely. He calls it a “hypocritical policy” that distinguishes between different communities.

Joe Rogan reacts to Elon Musk’s Twitter bid

Rogan is a friend and admirer of the billionaire entrepreneur, Elon Musk. He has hosted the Tesla head on his podcast and exchanged their thoughts on various things.

Rogan is also a supporter of free speech and therefore welcomed Musk’s decision to try to take control of Twitter. Musk recently bought a 9.1% share in Twitter and later made a whopping $43 billion bid for the company.

He announced his bid on Twitter itself, and also conducted a poll regarding taking the platform private. Rogan reacted to the news of Musk bidding for Twitter on his Instagram account. He shared a screenshot of the news with a five-word message.
