“She Would Murder Me” – Laura Sanko Responds to Call for Match With Amanda Nunes

Laura Sanko competed as an MMA fighter in 2013 and won her only professional match to date. The fight came at Invicta FC 4 where Sanko submitted Cassie Robb with a rear-naked choke. She has built a successful career as a broadcast personality within the sport, however, she still engages in sparring sessions. The journalist shared one such session on Twitter which impressed a few MMA fighters and had one fan labeling her as the next opponent for the women’s MMA GOAT Amanda Nunes. 

In the video, fans see Sanko engage in a session with boxing gloves. She lands vicious ending punches in the 3-2 combinations.

Laura Sanko vs Amanda Nunes?

One user was so impressed that he put forth a proposition for Sanko to take on the top-ranked female pound-for-pound fighter. 

Sanko responded to this saying she does not fall in the Brazilian’s weight class. Furthermore, she added that no matter what she weighed, Nunes would defeat her. She said, But I weigh 118 and regardless of what I weigh she would murder me”

Amanda Nunes is the only female ‘champ-champ’ in UFC history. Also, she is the 7th fighter to hold 2 UFC belts, the 3rd to hold both belts simultaneously. Furthermore, ‘The Lioness’ is the only fighter in the promotion to successfully defend both belts while reigning in the other division.

UFC Fighters praise Laura Sanko

Current UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski tweeted in support of Sanko saying, “Got some pop in them hands mate!!” 

Furthermore, Angela Hill seemed impressed by the 3-2 combos and shared a gif implying the same.

Currently, Nunes is on an 11-fight unbeaten streak with her latest challenger Felicia Spencer meeting the same fate as some of the biggest names in women’s MMA. Nunes has beaten Valentina Shevchenko, Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, and Cris Cyborg. She suffered her last defeat almost 6 years ago and requires new challengers having run through 2 divisions.
