Francis Ngannou is on a mean streak in the UFC and has spent a cumulative 2:42 in the Octagon in his last 4 fights. Now, he is next in line for a title shot following the Daniel Cormier-Stipe Miocic trilogy fight. While the fighter has a mean and menacing look about him at present, fans will be shocked to know that it wasn’t the case a few years ago. Here the Heavyweights talks about how there will always be people saying it’s too late.

The 2nd ranked UFC Heavyweight shared his life story in a social media trend called ‘Throwback Thursday.’ Here we see his pictures as a 26-year-old. Along with the images she shares his incredible journey from refugee to Heavyweight contender in the biggest fight organization in the world.

‘The Predator’ wrote, “2013: 7 years ago we were freed by Spanish homeland security after spending 2 months in jail for illegally entering Europe by sea. This, after attempting for one year from Morocco.”

In 2013, the fighter was pursuing a boxing career. However, he made the switch to MMA and joined the UFC in 2015. He talks about time not being a barrier for anyone to pursue their dreams. 

“I had nothing by then but a dream and a faith of pursuing it. Some people will always tell you that it’s too late, that you can’t make it, that it’s not meant for you, that you’re not worth it, or that you can’t succeed without them (while their lives aren’t an example of success).” 

As per ‘The Predator’ such voices always exist. However, he implies that mental strength is key in this regard.

“Those voices are always around the corner to make you quit your dream and maybe your destiny. It’s up to you and only you if you let them get to your mind, but you can also reject or ignore the negativities around you and make it in your own way.”

Ngannou certainly retained his love for boxing with 4 massive KOs in his last 4 fights. Furthermore, he looks way different from back then, which may serve as workout goals for certain fans.
