The highly anticipated trilogy bout saw both men trade blows for five rounds, with Miocic securing the victory via decision. Stipe has defended his belt a record four times and has defeated the best heavyweights in the division.

A major talking point coming into the fight was Stipe’s physique and weight. The heavyweight champion weighed in noticeably lighter than his first fight at 233 pounds.

This could be attributed to a change in Stipe’s nutrition and diet plan, and it played a huge role in his victory. The fighter revealed that he changed up his diet and nutrition for the fight, with a lot of emphasis on recovery, as he was training twice a day.

Stipe Miocic focused on supplementation and nutrition during camp

“Happy to be back home in the Land, but the grind doesn’t stop here. I’ve been focused on recovery movements, supplements, and nutrition. The outcome Saturday night was a result of an extreme camp, physically and mentally. The biggest adjustment I made this time around was keeping a precise focus on my diet and supplementary nutrition. The results speak for themselves,” he wrote.

Miocic teamed up Revive supplements, a USA-based company. The company sponsors many other athletes in the industry.
