MMA Legend Daniel Cormier sent fans into a shockwave after posting a picture of him allegedly signing the contract for his next fight. A trilogy bout between Stipe Miocic and Cormier has been touted for ages, with the fight set to take place very soon. Despite the shocking news, fans and MMA fighters alike were quick to troll DC. ‘The Blessed’ Max Holloway replied to Cormier’s tweet with his signature, in what was a light-hearted troll. Holloway joked by thanking Cormier for accepting the contract to fight him.

Negotiations between Stipe Miocic and Cormier had stalled due to the ongoing pandemic. Moreover, Stipe is nursing an eye injury and also works as a first responder. However, that hasn’t stopped both men from exchanging several verbal blows.

“The champ decides it’s time to fight”- Daniel Cormier
“I’m just waiting on the champ. When the champ decides it’s time to fight, that’s when he and I are going to fight. He’s got the belt, he makes the rules. I understand Stipe is a first responder. He’s a fireman, but he’s also a heavyweight champion of the world. And the heavyweight champion of the world needs to fight. I’ve got to get in great physical shape and I’ve got to be ready to stay the course for 25 minutes. I’ve got to do everything right if I’m going to beat this guy. He is the longest-reigning heavyweight champion for a reason, and I need to respect him in that way. I need to make necessary adjustments to get my hand raised.” Said Cormier as reported by MMA writer Justin Barrasso of si.com
Miocic also hinted fans that he’s set to return, essentially confirming that the bout will take place very soon. This is probably Cormier’s last fight. The legend has cemented his place among the greats of the sport and will look for one last swansong before he hangs up his gloves.
