Daniel Cormier says Tony Ferguson cutting weight was a “boss move”

The Heavyweight fighter is in awe of ‘El Cucuy’s determination. He shares his views on the same when probed by Helwani on ESPN’s ‘DC and Helwani.’

“Let me tell you something Helwani. Tony Ferguson different cat. But Tony Ferguson stepping in the scale at 155. That tells you how disciplined this man is. How disciplined is Tony Ferguson to get all the way down to the Championship weight. With nothing to gain. That’s a boss move.”

‘DC’ sheds light on his relationship with ‘El Cucuy’ not being a good one. However, he is all praise for the effort. He says he himself would not have gone through a weight cut for nothing.

“It is a boss move because it is harder to do something when there is no reward at the end. Tony was going to get on that weight. Make that weight. Suffer through the entire weight cut and go back to training. He just did it to show how disciplined and how in control of the entire situation he is.”

Tony Ferguson is ready to fight on May 9. The venue is uncertain as of this moment. It is expected to be the UFC Apex. However Dana White is keeping his cards close to his chest.

‘The Lightweight contender though will not be bothered. His determination speaks volumes in itself. He agreed to move from a Championship fight to an interim Championship fight. Then he cut weight for a fight that was off. All he wants is to fight and win the title.

Will ‘El Cucuy’ win his fight against ‘The Highlight’ and once more earn the right to fight ‘The Eagle?’
