Meanwhile, Dana White has confirmed that Ngannou will get the title shot ahead of Jones. That means that the Miocic vs Jones super-fight might not happen anytime soon. Even so, Miocic appears calm and prepared for any other challenges thrown to him.

Stipe Miocic has his own plans with Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou

Speaking with ESPN, Miocic clarified that he never picks his opponents. Thus, he would accept a fight against either Jones or Ngannou for his next championship defense.

The Heavyweight champion believes that ‘The Predator’ will have an upper hand over ‘Bones’ in the title relay.

“Ngannou has definitely shown a lot better stuff since the first fight. He’s knocking everyone out in the first round. He’s just on a tear.”, said Miocic, while reflecting his opinions on Ngannou’s title match.

That said, Jones is still not off the charts. Dana White has validated that Jones will get to fight for the heavyweight title. Just not before Ngannou. Thus, the winner of Miocic vs Ngannou 2 can welcome the former light heavyweight champion into the division.

“Its great he is an amazing fighter, he is one of the best fighters. He is trying to prove himself, so it’s even better.

“I don’t know, I mean he has got a great resume. I am not the matchmaker, so I really can’t say,” said Miocic.

The UFC Heavyweight champion further reveals that he is open to fighting anyone in the promotion.

“I’ll fight anyone, I don’t really call people out. Whoever they put me in front of, I’m gonna fight. That’s what I do. That’s what I signed up for. If it’s him or it’s Ngannou or whoever, I’m ready to go,” said Miocic.

Miocic vs Ngannou 2

The original contest between two of the heavyweight gladiators at UFC 220 was completely a one-sided affair. Miocic dominated the whole contest and out-wrestled Ngannou on the mat.

‘The Predator’ had very little to respond with. After a battle of five rounds, Miocic was awarded the victory via the judge’s scorecard. It was Ngannou’s first loss in the UFC.

However, he has evolved highly since the fight and a rematch might look different. The fight is yet to receive an official call from the administration. Yet, there’s no doubt that Ngannou and Miocic will lock horns once again for the Heavyweight title.
