The buzz around Jon Jones moving up to the Heavyweight Division to fight Francis Ngannou is starting to intensify. Of course, when his longest-standing rival plans on moving up to his division, Daniel Cormier has to have something to say.

The ongoing altercation between Jones and “The Predator” is proving out to be the talking point of all MMA platforms. When the fighter who has dominated the Light Heavyweight Division finally decides to is time to move up, the spotlight definitely follows.

On the ‘DC and Helwani Show’, Daniel said, “First off, I am quick to insult Jones. I will insult Jones on any day of the week. But, I will also give him credit where credit is due. I believe this Francis Ngannou thing is one of the most gangster things in the world!”

DC was particularly thrilled with Ngannou’s performance at UFC 249. He completely destroyed Jairzinho Rozenstruik within a matter of seconds by landing a huge left fist right to his jaw. However, DC also feels that Jones has nothing to be afraid of, what with the tons of accomplishments he has at his feet.

Carrying on with the interview, DC said, “I don’t get when people say me or Jon Jones that we are afraid of someone. It is the most insane thing in the world! We are not afraid of anything. I think this Jones thing is cool. He’s like, ‘Okay, you want to fight” Let’s do it!’. That is what any… [true fighter] would do. Hats off to Jones!”

Truly, Jones is someone who has proved his mettle every time he has stepped into the Octagon. His reign over the Light Heavyweight Division is unparalleled to anything that the MMA world has ever seen. And his desire to move up to heavyweight and dish out the same damage is nothing new.

As he finally gears up to move up the weight division, it will be extremely intriguing to see whether he can be as sensational in his rule over the division, if he does manage to establish it.
