Kamaru Usman Calls Out Jorge Masvidal for a Fight at UFC 249

“Masvidal is the next victim,” says Kamaru Usman

Brett Okamoto asked him on what percentage he feels Masvidal will be his next opponent

“We are at a 100%. This is a guy that I’ve said it over and over again. Anything that you say to me can and will be used against you and he has just stepped over that line to where it’s a 100% that’s the right I want. That’s the fight that makes sense. That is the next victim.”

As per the rankings, ‘Gamebred’ is next for the Welterweight Champion. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ claimed the Championship at UFC 235 in a unanimous decision win. Later he defended the belt against Colby Covington at UFC 245.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is incensed at ‘Gamebred.’ His words show that he cannot wait to get his hands on the BMF. He said he would love to go to fight island and face ‘Gamebred’ in an empty arena.

“I really want to fight him in an empty arena. I wanna see how he’s gonna react, stepping into the cage when there’s no fans around. There’s no one to scream, no one to cheer for him. Just him getting pummeled, taken down, dropped on his neck, dropped on his head. I might duplex him a couple of times. Rustam Khabilov did all sorts of things, so I may just re-enact that.”

It will be interesting to see if ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ can keep his word and hand Masvidal a loss akin to the Khabilov fight at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3.

The fight isn’t official yet. However, both fighters maintain that they are in shape. On the other hand, neither of them have stepped into the Octagon in 2020 and is due a return. Could we see them at Fight Island in the coming month?
