Anthony Johnson has talked a lot about his comeback. ‘Rumble’ retired from mixed martial arts after his loss to Daniel Cormier. However, not long after that, he started posting his pictures where he had put on weight and muscles. Fans were anticipating a return at Heavyweight. There hasn’t been much news about his return lately. However, Dana White is not worried about it.

The former light heavyweight title challenger was one of the hardest hitters on the entire UFC roster. When pictures of a jacked-up Johnson surfaced online people started flirting with the idea of how dangerous he could be at Heavyweight. At 36 years of age, Johnson can still have the second installment of his career.

Although, UFC President Dana White thinks the UFC is a young man’s game. Speaking at the post-fight press conference at UFC on ESPN 11, White told the media it’s not a big thing to have not heard anything from Johnson lately.

“There was talk about it for a minute. Then it all stopped and disappeared again,” Dana White said about Anthony Johnson’s return. The reporter said that it was not good. However, the UFC supremo begged to defer.

“It is good. If you don’t wanna fight and walked off the first time then what are you coming back for. If it’s just a payday, he’s a smart kid. He can go do some other things. This is a young man’s game. These up and coming kids are savages.”

Dana White cites the example of Shane Burgos vs Josh Emmett

The past weekend’s UFC event featured a potential Fight of the Year candidate between Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos. The two featherweights left everything inside the Octagon and gave the fans a night to remember. Even Dana White was in awe of the two. He used them as an example to show that young fighters are a much more marketable commodity.

“Look at this Emmett vs Burgos fight. Both these guys looking for the credit and the respect they deserve. Those are the type of guys you wanna fight. This is a young man’s game,” White said.

Dana added that fighting in the UFC is a limited opportunity that is only available to a small number of people.

“There’s nothing wrong with being retired in the sport. I always say this to these kids. This is not a job. It is an opportunity. You have a very short window of time to do this like any other professional sport,” Dana added.

Anthony Johnson talked to the media in March before Coronavirus put a halt to all major sporting activities. He said that he was looking for a return around November. After that ‘Rumble’ has been quiet. Earlier this month, he joked about returning to Welterweight.
