Dana White announced that he will be conducting international fights on a private island. Although the location remains undisclosed, Colby Covington is eager to fight on the mysterious island. ‘Chaos’ wants to ‘feed’ his long time rival—Tyron Woodley—to the sharks.

‘The Chosen One’ was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards at UFC London. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the card has been postponed indefinitely. Recently, the President of the UFC stated his intentions to keep the business running.

With a full training camp, T-Wood put his name in the hat to fight at UFC 249. He challenged the former interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington. Covington accepted to fight Woodley on short notice. But, Woodley claimed that Covington denied signing the dotted line.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Covington clarified his stand on the fight. He said that he is not ducking a fight with the former champion.

“This fight is multiple years in the making. This fight is beyond personal. There is a serious beef between me and Tyron Woodley, and it needs to be settled.” Covington said.

“The only way it is going to be settled is, we’re going to do it on Dana White’s fight island, I’m going to end that b*tch. He’s going to be dead and they can just throw his dead body to the sharks.”

Furthermore, Covington mentioned that if he and Woodley had to fight at UFC 249, the match would have eclipsed the main-event (Ferguson vs Gaethje).

“They also recognize and realize, that me vs Tyron Woodley is a bigger fight than Justin Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson, and if you look at the numbers any way you crunch it, that’s true news.”

Indeed, Woodley vs Covington is long overdue. At a point of time, both men were supposed to compete for the undisputed title. Unfortunately, that match did not materialize.

Recent developments suggest that Mr. White will be looking forward to putting blockbuster fights in the near future. With two of the welterweight wanting to compete, we might get to see Woodley vs Covington after all.
