High stakes fight for Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington

Colby Covington who feels hard done by referee Marc Goddard’s actions in the final round of the UFC 245 main event will see this fight as having the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

First, he will get a chance to beat a former champion and stake his claim to the next shot at the gold. Second, he wants to demolish Tyron Woodley and back up years of trash talk.

He knows a win over a higher-ranked contender could see his stock raised exponentially. Woodley was on the receiving end of this after Gilbert Burns beat him and shot up from sixth to first in the rankings.

Despite Tyron Woodley confirming the date, Covington will not believe that the fight is on until September 19 when the cage door shuts with himself, Woodley, and the referee being the only three inside.
