“He’s something special and he’s better all the time”-Joe Rogan

“Justin Gaethje’s a monster. He’s a monster. He’s a terrifying individual. He is, I mean, in a sport that’s violent, it’s an inherently violent sport, he stands out, as the most violent. I mean, you watch his knockout of Edson Barboza, you watch how that motherf****r attacks people. There’s a reckless abandon to his calculated wildness. It’s terrifying. He’s something special and he’s better all the time”. Said Rogan on his podcast.

Gaethje is known for his excellent ‘dirty-boxing’ and relentless pressure. Irrespective of his skill, Gaethje’s conditioning for the bout will be a major concern as he accepted the fight on 2 weeks notice.

However, ‘The Highlight’ can take inspiration from Nate Diaz in this regard. Nate accepted a fight against Conor McGregor on very short notice and shocked the world by beating ‘The Notorious’ at UFC 196 as pointed out by Rogan.

“Justin Gaethje’s  a man with a plan”

“For Justin Gaethje, it depends entirely on how much time he’s been spending in the gym. Now, he’s a man with a plan, right? He’s trying to be the UFC lightweight champion, so he’s probably not getting too out of shape. And, he probably knew that in this case there is a potential that one of those guys could drop out because they’ve already made that fight four f*****g times and it fell apart. So this is the fifth time it’s fallen apart.”Said Rogan

Justin Gaethje’s conditioning will certainly be tested against Ferguson. Tony is known for applying enormous amounts of pressure on his opponents, with his conditioning probably the best in the UFC. His unorthodox style will certainly cause a lot of issues, However, looking at the skill-set of both fighters it’s almost impossible to predict who will come out victorious.
