The Brazilian eventually fought for UFC gold. She defeated Rose Namajunas to win the belt at UFC 237. However, she lost it soon after to reigning champion, Weili Zhang.

At UFC 251, Andrade faced off against Namajunas in a rematch. Jessica looked strong early in the fight; she confused Rose with her constant head movement. Since her defeat, Andrade’s rank fell to #2. She will probably have to win a couple of fights before competing for the title again. If the UFC is unsuccessful in matching her up soon, she can rematch Joanna Jedrzejczyk next.
