Justin Gaethje has quickly become one of the top stars in the UFC. With his fan-friendly fighting style and an ever-growing list of impressive KO’s, Gaethje aptly earns the name ‘The Highlight.’ Gaethje will be one half of this weekend’s epic lightweight title unification fight.
Justin will look to unify the UFC lightweight titles against the current champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Gaethje comes into this fight as the UFC interim lightweight champion, having won the belt back in May against Tony Ferguson.

Gaethje will finally get his wish to fight for the ‘real’ belt against the champion of the division. He aims to not only unify the UFC lightweight title but also become the first fighter to beat the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Speaking to the MMA media, Gaethje said that Khabib hasn’t faced top competition. “He (Khabib) won his belt from Al Iaquinta. That’s not a title. That was just a circumstance in which the title was on the line,” Gaethje stated.
“Al Iaquinta is not world-class, not not in slightest.” Gaethje, however, credited Dustin Poirier, “I’d be a fool to say bad things about him (Poirier) when he whooped my ass.”
‘He’s a formidable challenge, but again that guy didn’t grow up wrestling, he didn’t wrestle his whole life,” Gaethje concluded about Poirier.
Justin Gaethje plans to shock the world
“I’m obviously going to present a different kind of danger than he has ever faced,” Gaethje stated. “I have knocked out 18 or 19 of the 22 people that I have beaten.”
“Nobody presents the danger that I present,” Justin concluded. ‘The Highlight’ seems confident in his abilities to pose a threat to the undefeated Dagestani champion. He also credits his wrestling career for the mentality it instilled in him.
