UFC 250 has seemingly gotten another massive fight after the bout at UFC 249 that saw Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo call time on his MMA career. The event on June 6 will see a massive Bantamweight clash between Aljamain Sterling and Cory Sandhagen.

As per MMA Junkie, people close to the situation confirmed the clash, despite no official announcement from the UFC.

A tweet by ‘Funk Master’ too confirms he will be at the event. He wrote, “Funk Bandits, it’s official! My contract is signed! Quarantine beard and mustache are in prime form! Let’s get FUNKY!

Unfortunately for ‘Funk Master’, he will not be competing on Fight Island.

The second and fourth-ranked UFC Bantamweight fighters were set to clash at UFC Fight Night in San Diego. However, the UFC scrapped the event and replaced it with UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs Harris at Jacksonville.

‘The Sandman’s last defeat came in 2017 when he was part of Legacy Fighting Alliance.  In 2018, he moved to the UFC and switched to Bantamweight after debuting at Featherweight.

He has notched up wins over Iuri Alcantara, Mario Bautista, John Lineker, and Raphael Assuncao. However, if he is to go for a 5th on the trot, he will need to snap ‘Funk Master’s 4 fight streak.

Sterling has been in scintillating form ever since a KO loss to current top-ranked Bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes in 2018. He has decision wins over Brett Johns, Jimmie Rivera, and Pedro Munhoz. The other win came after he submitted Cody Stamann at UFC 228.

Both fighters know that snapping their opponent’s win streak will put them in the picture for a shot at the vacant Bantamweight Championship.

The event on June 6 will also mark the return of Amanda Nunes, who faces Felicia Spencer in the main event. However, attention will be on the Bantamweight bout too, as every single fight will have major implications on the pecking order for the division.
