Alexander Volkanovski is all set to make his maiden title defense against Max Holloway once the Fight Island leg of UFC events commences on July 11. However, ‘The Great’ has his guns trained on recently retired ex-champion Henry Cejudo. Earlier, ‘Triple C’ said a chance at a 3rd UFC Championship would get him back to the Octagon. The duo fired shots at each other with the Australian going to an oft used tactic that fighters use to trash talk ‘The Messenger.’

Alexander Volkanovski mocks Henry Cejudo

The UFC Featherweight Champion put out a gif in response to the former 3rd ranked pound for pound fighter. It features a small child wearing boxing gloves as he tries to swing and hit taller men. The post also shows the taller men nimbly fend off the shorter foe.

It is clearly a dig at the 5’4″ Cejudo’s short stature. The comments came in the aftermath of ‘Triple C’ promising to make Volkanovski “bend the knee.” He even put up a shocking bet involving his 2008 Beijing Olympics Wrestling Gold, his 2 UFC belts, and his first girlfriend.

Cejudo was quite dominant in the Octagon and got better with experience. He did not lose after going down via split decision to Joseph Benavidez in December 2016.

Not the type to stop progressing despite walking away, he has formed a friendship with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson and has started taking boxing lessons. Akin to the former Heavyweight boxing champion, ‘The Messenger’ too is one who can back his loud comments with equally loud performances in while competing.

His wins over Dominick Cruz, Marlon Moraes, T.J. Dillashaw, and Demetrious Johnson are examples of that.

For the Henry Cejudo- Alexander Volkanovski fight to happen, ‘The Great’ will have to ensure he can overcome  Holloway again. ‘Blessed’ could look to play party pooper and reclaim the title at ‘The Octagon on the beach.’ By doing so he will give ‘Triple C’ the chance to absolutely lay into ‘The Great’ on the 11th of July.

Do you see ‘Triple C’ ever facing ‘The Great’ in what will be a history-making fight should it be booked?
