UFC Reveals Massive Fight Card For Fight Night Abu Dhabi

UFC Fight Island will host some blockbuster fight cards as the company recently released the full feature cards. Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island was declared as the home of Fight Island. Fighters impacted by the global travel ban can utilize Fight Island to the fullest.

July 15 will serve as the playground for a massive featherweight headliner between Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. The two fighters are coming off impressive victories over big names in the UFC. This match-up has high stakes for the winner moving forward in the 145-pound weight class.

UFC Featherweights square off

Calvin Kattar secured a gritty TKO over Jeremy Stevens via elbows at UFC 249. In light of this victory, ‘The Boston Finisher’ jumped into the eyes of casual fans as an elite Featherweight.

Dan Ige spoiled the featherweight debut of veteran lightweight Edson Barboza when he edged past the latter via split decision. Not to mention Edson Barboza is a stellar name to add to any resume and helped Ige secure the headlining spot against Kattar.

A spectacular finish could earn either featherweight a shot at a number one contender’s slot against the divisions elite.

The co-headliner sees another featherweight match-up as Frankie Edgar looks to return to winning ways. Pedro Munhoz will be across Frankie Edgar. Furthermore, he has beaten top competition such as Cody Garbrandt and Brian Caraway.

Not to mention top Welterweight prospect Abdul Razak Alhassan will square off against Mounir Lazzez. ‘Juno Thunder’ has finished 10 out of his 11 opponents by KO/TKO.

The Prelim portion of the card includes two exciting matchups in the women’s flyweight division as well. Diana Belbita takes on Liana Jojua as the first fight on the card of the prelim portion. The heavy-handed Middleweight John Philips takes on Dusko Todorovic.

Chiefly the fight card is well spread across a few different UFC divisions. The fight card clearly serves to showcase the talent stacked UFC featherweight division.
