Somewhere in early March, the entire live sporting world shut down along with almost every other industry in the world. We had encountered a global pandemic and quarantine and lockdown were the only measures that could keep the infection at bay.
We’re now almost 3 months into the situation where extreme measures have been required, but we have on the way seen glimmers of home. In the sporting industry, UFC was the first promotion to get back to live-action. Though they had to make major alterations in the way they carried events, Dana White persevered and pulled it off.

The absence of a live audience, unwilling fighters and the loss of venues didn’t deter them, it only made them more stubborn. And yes, UFC is back and how! They have already pulled off several events successfully and are looking forward to organizing many more. They have announced upcoming events and have also recently released a set of guidelines that will be followed to make sure that no matter what, the safety of everyone involved still remains of their topmost priority.

UFC athletes will be tested 5 times
Ariel Helwani took to Instagram and posted a picture that described clearly all the steps that the fighters will undergo before and once they arrive at The Fight Island. He posted a 13 step process that involves multiple testings the fighters will be put through to make sure the island is safe and the events goes on smoothly.
He posted a picture and captioned it saying, “The UFC sent this out tonight to all fighters competing in Abu Dhabi next month. In short, this is what they’re looking at in terms of testing in order to compete on Yas Island. All fighters will have to fly there via charter flights from four hub cities: Las Vegas, London, Moscow, and São Paulo.”
