Thoughts on being in the co-main event
Valentina sat down with Ariel Helwani from ESPN MMA ahead of her UFC 255 title fight. Helwani asked the champ about her thoughts on being the co-main event.
Shevchenko explained it does not bother her, “I’m not the kind of the person who’s going to be saying something or crying about something, ‘Oh it was not, it’s supposed to be a different way’, I’m not that person.”
The Bullet continued, “I’m not that one who complains every time or asks ‘you have to put me in the ranking here or have to put me in the rankings there’ I’m not a person and it doesn’t matter.”
Valentina Shevchenko only focused on herself
The Bullet believes that it’s not her job to worry about her place in the rankings. The only thing on her mind is to have a strong performance. Valentina is currently on a 5-fight win streak.
The champion said, “I’m in the great sport so it doesn’t matter if I’m not the main event, but it’s the same fight. It’s the same, and the performance is the one thing that really matters.”

She even encouraged fans to tune into the main event, “I think both fighters who fight in the main event, Figueiredo and Perez, are great fighters.
“They’re going to show a lot of skills, speed, power and a lot of technique. So it’s going to be a great main event and I suggest everyone should watch their fight”
