Twitter Heaps Praise On Michelle Waterson as She Stuns Favorite Angela Hill in a Five Round War

Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill were the main event for UFC Vegas 10. Hill created history by becoming the first black woman to head a card for the UFC. The fight started out well for Angela, as she won the first two rounds, out striking Waterson. “Overkill” landed a few bombs in the first two rounds and had Waterson hurt a few times. However, Michelle rallied on as she was two rounds down going into the third.

The direction of the fight changed in the third round. Waterson took down Hill early in the round and pinned her there for most of the fight. Moreover, she inflicted considerable damage on her opponent.

The fourth and fifth rounds saw both fighters trading with each other, blow for blow. However, Michelle Waterson could convince the judges that she did more in the last two rounds to secure a split decision win over Angela. This was Waterson’s first win after two back-to-back losses.

Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill garnered praise from fellow UFC fighters

Several UFC fighters were in awe of the war that Hill and Waterson fought, and the praises would not stop flowing in. 

 

First up heavyweight knockout artist was all praise for the two women his tweet read “What a war between Waterson and Hill. Congrat Girls on your performance”

 

 

Current Bantamweight and Featherweight Queen “The Lioness was impressed with what she saw. She tweeted saying “Awesome main event #UFCVegas10 Congrats girls”

 

Gerald Meershaert who takes on Chimaev congratulated the women on their display. He also went on to add that “We got a lot to live up to next weekend”

 

Undefeated featherweight Bryce Mitchell also chimed in saying “Fite of the night. Them Ladies r badass”

Middleweight Derek Brunson who is on a three-fight win streak heaped praise on the two women he tweeted saying “WOW. What a technical display. One of the best woman’s MMA fight I’ve seen. Boxing, BJJ, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Cardio……we’ve seen it all! #UFCVegas10

Though they were not scheduled to be the main event, no one can deny that the fight lived up to all expectations and then some more!
