Lewis (23-7-1) in MMA has 10 knockouts in UFC to his name. Therefore, to underestimate him inside the octagon could prove to be a lethal mistake, and Lewis just verified the same with an intense throwback video.

While boxing vs MMA has always been a hotly debated topic amongst the combat sports fan base, a boxer once belittled Derrick Lewis’ knockout power for being a martial artist.

Lewis packs a terrifying killer instinct in every punch he drops, something that the boxer could corroborate.

The Black Beast in UFC

Lewis, 35, is a deadly heavyweight and is an equally entertaining superstar. Apart from his fighting style, Lewis has garnered massive attention owing to his cheeky mic skills.

In a number of his post-fight interviews, Lewis has surprised the fans with his unexpected statements. “My b**** was hot” remains to be one of the most notable ones.

That said, inside the cage, he is an overly intimidating contender who has notched some big names in his victory list.

Lewis has victories over Francis Ngannou and Blagoy Ivanov among a whole host of others. If he manages to defeat Oleinik in the upcoming contest, Lewis would seemingly enter the ranks of the Top-3 heavyweights.

Stipe Miocic is the divisional head at this point with the UFC gold and DC is just a step below, as the number one contender.
