Derrick Lewis just registered his 11 knockout in UFC, as he vanquished Aleksei Oleinik in the main event of UFC on Vegas 6.
It was a quick night for Lewis, since he notched the victory in the second round. However, a lot of his antics in the fight have been put under the scope, citing them to be illegal under several circumstances.

Although Lewis successfully dominated his rival throughout their fight, a bunch of his strikes appeared illegal by the end. He did something similar in the primary round and received a warning.
That said, the recent performance of ‘The Black Beast’ might get scrutinized by veterans and several MMA fans at this point.
Did Derrick Lewis land illegal shots to claim his win against Aleksei Oleinik?
A Twitter handle posted the clip of Lewis knocking out Oleinik in the headlining bout. It is prominent that ‘The Black Beast’ landed some brutal shots on the back of Oleinik’s head.
Derrick Lewis just set a new UFC record for Heavyweight Knockouts. Brutal.

However, Lewis did not boast the intention of hurting his opponent or notching the victory. Navajo officials would seemingly pave more attention to his strikes inside the cage.
Despite all the perception and debates, there’s no denying that Lewis shut force to his rival with some energetic flushes. ‘The Black Beast’ has also earned the highest number of knockouts in the heavyweight division after his latest win.
Thus, Lewis now wants to test himself against the top-rated Heavyweights of the roster. In the post-fight press conference, he hinted at a possible matchup opposite Francis Ngannou or Curtis Blaydes.
“You know Curtis Blaydes makes sense, Ngannou makes sense, Overeem makes sense, we will just see what happens next week,” said Lewis, thrilling the entire fanbase.
KO- Killers in the heavyweight roster
While Lewis is at the top spot with 11 KOs, Francis Ngannou is just two-steps behind with 9 knockouts under his name.
Thus, a battle between them would potentially end with a devastating KO, with one man leading the torch. However, Ngannou is the number two-contender at this point and will get his title shot after UFC 252.

Thus, Lewis has interestingly linked himself with Curtis Blaydes before hunting down for the UFC gold. Although it was Blaydes who initiated the call out via Twitter, Lewis steadily responded to that in the post-fight press conference.
“I am gonna take Curtis Blaydes down and finish him,” he stated matter-of-factly.
Understandably, the current heavyweight roster has some legit hard-hitters. All of them are capable enough to shut the lights for their opponents any time inside the cage. Lewis and Blaydes are two of the biggest threats in the category.
