WATCH: Georges St-Pierre Has Fans Excited in New Video

Former two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre took to Instagram and shared a training video for his legions of fans. The video grab shows ‘Rush’ to be in impeccable shape even after stepping away from the sport. The recent footage has fight fans world-wide pining at the possibility a return to action for GSP.

Following the events of UFC 251, the talks for a potential return have drastically picked up pace. Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman solidified his position atop the 170-pound division with a victory over Jorge Masvidal. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare has now tied Georges St-Pierre at 12 straight victories in the division.

These feats being replicated by future champions have made the MMA community reflective of the past. St-Pierre is considered by many to be possibly the best fighter to step foot inside the cage. Given his toned physique, it looks as though the consensus GOAT is ready to duke it out against the very best.

Georges St-Pierre: A brief history

‘Rush’ entered the UFC back in January 2004 and would go on to only suffer 2 defeats throughout his tenure. Moreover, he also would avenge the only two losses on his career record by the time he last fought in 2017. To this day, his resume stands the test of time in terms of high caliber competition.

Additionally, he set a gold standard when it came to fight promotion inside and outside the cage. He popularized the trend of wearing suits to press conferences, which helped clean up the image of the sport. Moreover, his endearing nature in interviews made him a beloved figure.

After successfully stamping his reign on the Welterweight division, GSP retired from the sport citing rampant PED usage. At the time of his departure, the UFC had lost one of the biggest marquee draws in promotional history. He would go onto further bolster his status at the top when he defeated Michael Bisping at UFC 217. This crowing effort saw him become the champion of a second weight class, adding to his legend.

A return for Georges St-Pierre would mark the advent of a massive star returning to active competition. In light of the landscape of money fights, a potential return against Kamaru Usman or Khabib Nurmagomedov would be one of meteoric proportions.
