WATCH: Israel Adesanya Hosts Fan Kicking Competition at the Open Workout Session Ahead of UFC 248

The traditional open workout session ahead of the UFC 248 was a good crowd puller. Superstars Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero who are to fight in the Saturday’s main event were the major attractions in the open workout session.

Romero initially showed off his Judo skills. When it was Adesanya’s turn, he involved the fans in the session. He called out fans and held a fan kicking competition.

Among other notable people to have showed off their skills at the open workout session was Women’s strawweight Champion Weili Zhang.

Israel Adesanya wants to conquer the middleweight category

Currently the UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya has received call outs from people like Jon Jones to move to the heavyweight division. But for Adesanya, it is about conquering the current division before moving to another.

I could have jumped up already and fought at light heavyweight like everyone else is doing but I want to wipe out the division like guys like Demetrious Johnson and guys like Georges St-Pierre,” Adesanya told Mma fighting. “Guys like Anderson Silva, who stuck with a division, cleaned it out and then moved up.

Adesanya seemed to be one with a plan who knows when to make a move to another division.

“I’d rather be very well prepared before I move to heavyweight or light heavyweight,” he said. “That’s according to my own schedule — no one else’s.”
