Jon Jones is the UFC light heavyweight champ. However, unlike other promotional champs who have just fought or will fight in the coming months, Jones is out of the competition. He is utilizing his time away from the sport in doing what he loves and that involves training as well.

Jones dropped a new video on Twitter where he is kicking the pads. Jones was slower than the usual visuals we have of him. However, this was because this is his second workout together with his trainer this summer. Hence, he is taking it easy.

Lately, Jones has been doing a lot of social work. He is attempting to do his bit for the society that he lives in. Whether it is curbing the violence during the recent protests or helping in the renovation of a vandalized restaurant, Jones is playing a part in creating a positive effect on society.

How long will Jon Jones remain out of action
Jon Jones and the UFC are in a stalemate right now. While we don’t know what’s going on behind the curtains, there hasn’t been any news regarding Jones’ future from himself or Dana White. After a round of failed negotiations regarding a fight with Francis Ngannou, Jones claims that he has retired from the sport.

A month ago, Jones and Jorge Masvidal were in the same spot. Represented by First Round Management, ‘Bones’ and ‘Gamebred’ were at loggerheads with the UFC on a pay dispute. Jones now remains alone in the spot. While part of it was due to the circumstances that allowed Masvidal to fight, a big reason for the same is because Jones can afford to sit out.

The 205-pound kingpin doesn’t have a lot to conquer in his division. While there are contenders, Jones would feel that he has more to lose than to gain when he fights them. Hence, he is willing to wait it out. Jones will return to the Octagon for a big fight, both financially and in terms of his legacy.
