WATCH: Mike Tyson Teaches Punching Techniques to Henry Cejudo

Mike Tyson is one of the hardest punchers in boxing history. Apart from tremendous power, “Iron Mike” also had several skills and techniques in his arsenal. He is now passing the same wisdom to former UFC double champ Henry Cejudo.

In a video that has surfaced online, the 53-year old Tyson is teaching Cejudo the uppercut from close range. Given Tyson’s power, the uppercut was devastating. Tyson explains Cejudo how to rip into the body of his opponents with two fast uppercuts. He also instructed Cejudo to keep his head down while doing so.

Mike Tyson has been making headlines after a video of him sparring came up online. Regardless of his age, he still possesses devastating power. He has also announced that he will be making a comeback for a few fights. Consequently, several boxers have extended their offer to fight the former champion. Tyson is yet to accept a challenge from anyone.

“Perfect” – Mike Tyson seemed impressed with Henry Cejudo

After Tyson demonstrated his punches, Cejudo followed them up. While he didn’t generate the same power as Mike, his technique was more or less on point. Even Tyson was happy with his protege’s performance. He complimented him by labeling him as “perfect”. Cejudo has revealed beforehand that he is good friends with Tyson’s manager Rob Hickman.

Henry Cejudo has retired from competition after his win over Dominick Cruz last month. At just 33 years of age, “Triple C” put an end to an illustrious career. Apart from winning multiple belts in the UFC, Cejudo also has an Olympic Gold medal to his name. That gives him, arguably, the best resume among combat athletes.

However, Cejudo hasn’t yet closed the door on a comeback. He is open for a comeback if he gets a chance to make history. Cejudo is willing to make another trip to the Octagon if he gets to fight Alexander Volkanovski for Featherweight gold. A win over Volkanovski will make him the first fighter to hold belts in three divisions of the UFC.

Apart from MMA, Cejudo is also considering a crossover to the world of boxing. He is exploring the options of a fight with young WBC Silver Lightweight titleholder Ryan Garcia. The training with Tyson may also be an indication of Cejudo’s attempt to get better at boxing to fight Garcia.
