The name Diaz holds a lot of weight in the UFC. Hence, fighters are abuzz when either brother has an upcoming fight. Now, the elder one, Nick Diaz, is set to make a return to the UFC and underwent a mock weight cut. He is even sparring to get back into the thick of things but elected to have some fun with his brother. The duo stepped onto a sidewalk and had a brotherly ‘street fight’.

Nate Diaz landed a leg kick and seemed to be the dominant of the duo in this light-hearted session. He tried to lock his elder brother in a clinch and even connected with a right hand. However, in keeping with the theme of this brotherly squabble, he held back.

Nick anticipated a blow as he braced for a knee to the midsection. This is a common attack used by fighters from close range. Nate Diaz closed in with a series of punches. However, Nick ‘fended’ him off after 10 seconds and had a huge smile plastered on his face.

A glance at Nick Diaz shows that he is lean and can move freely despite cutting weight for the first time in five years. This ‘street fight’ enthused fans, who have waited for him to fight once more.

Will the UFC ever book Nick Diaz vs Nate Diaz?

Nick and Nate would have scrapped many times while growing up and trained with each other in many sparring sessions. A fight between the two is always an option and could push both to reinvent themselves. This is because each brother will know the other’s strengths and weaknesses.

Moreover, the duo has not publicly declared that they wouldn’t fight each other in the UFC like how the Klitschko brothers did in boxing.

Even if the duo does not fight each other, there are plenty of enticing options for Nick Diaz if he signs a contract for a fight. Third-ranked welterweight Leon Edwards has called for the fight and so has sixth-ranked Stephen ‘Wonder Boy’ Thompson.
