After facing back to back losses, Moicano moved up a weight class to face Damir Hadžović. He faced Hadžović inside an empty Ginasio Nilson Nelson Arena in Brasilia, Brazil. Going into the fight, Moicano was 13-3-1 whereas his opponent was 13-5. Both men were coming off losses.

Moicano landed a right followed by a takedown. He immediately secures a body triangle. Moicano sinks a rear-naked choke. Hadžović was losing his cool afterwards and the two had a verbal exchange. The security had to separate them.

Post-fight, Renato Moicano seemed frustrated by the absence of an audience. He said, “I am frustrated because I saw nobody.” He then commanded respect and called out top lightweight Paul Felder.
