UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is slated to compete in the biggest fight of his pro-MMA career against Daniel Cormier, headlining the event at UFC 252.

Apart from the UFC gold on the line, the winner is going to be billed as the ‘Greatest Heavyweight’ fighter in the promotion. No wonder both the men are expected to give it their all, once the cage locks behind them.

Both the contenders have also appeared confident about recording a win against the other. However, Miocic is still in a league of his own.

The Heavyweight champion recently took to social media and gave us a glimpse of his how he’s preparing to take on the biggest challenge of his career so far.

Miocic,37,  posted a picture of himself training in the gym on Instagram. The caption of the post read, “Who else got their second session in today?”

DC vs Miocic 3 will go down at the APEX Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 15, with the Heavyweight strap on the line. Not to forget, it can be an intense five-rounder or a shutter-close contest like the original fight.

 

 

DC vs Stipe Miocic- The Original fight

DC resurrected himself into the heavyweight division by going straight against the champion, Stipe Miocic at UFC 226.

However, to everyone’s shock DC made it a quick day at work by knocking out Miocic within a mere minute. He landed a series of combinations and brought the champion down, to claim the UFC heavyweight title in the first round.

DC vs Miocic- The Rematch

The Heavyweight re-match happened at UFC 241 and went on for four rounds, forcing both contenders to wade into deep waters.

DC took a lot of damage from those shots and taking advantage of it, Miocic knocked him out in the fourth round to reclaim his title.

What’s next after the trilogy

DC is expected to hang his gloves up for good after laying his longtime rivalry with Miocic to rest. However. Miocic has vowed to remain active in the promotion and hopes to face Jon Jones in the heavyweight division.

During a recent conversation with James Lynch, the UFC Heavyweight champion revealed that he is open to facing Jones or anyone the promotion offers him after he gets past DC.

That said, Miocic is expected to appear a couple of times more before he bows out.
