Paul Felder knows both sides of being associated with the largest MMA organization in the world, UFC. While he has already been a critically acclaimed fighter in the promotion, Felder is also a renowned commentator and analyst of the sport.

Although he is still relevant in the official UFC rankings, Felder claims he is retired. His last appearance against Dan Hooker in February ended with a heartbreaking decision loss. In the post-fight interview, The Irish Dragon hinted at his retirement and is yet to reappear as a fighter since then.

However, that hasn’t stopped him from appearing on-screen. Felder, 35, has been a consistent persona in the UFC commentary panel. Here’s a glimpse at Paul Felder’s incredible career inside and outside the UFC cage.

While speaking with a young fighter, Felder reveals that every single fighter gets afraid before fighting. No wonder the statement broke the stereotypical beliefs over MMA fighters for all the good reasons.

“We are all afraid. We are terrified in this sport, to embrace that and be open with that, that steps ahead a lot of people, so that’s good,” said Felder.

‘The Irish Dragon’ also revealed how he got into the on-screen segment. As per Felder, he always wanted to perform on stage since childhood, and UFC potentially gave him that opportunity too. Not only that, but Felder also clarified that he would only stop fighting for the profession of the analyst.

Paul Felder is now a recognized UFC panelist, besides Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and others. He also shares a healthy relationship with UFC President Dana White.

Thus it is safe to believe that Felder is not leaving the UFC anytime soon. Even if as a commentator, the Irish star is going to be present there for the UFC fans.

The Irish Dragon’s UFC career

Paul Felder is currently the seventh-ranked UFC lightweight, boasting a pro record of 17-5. Despite having no world title in his resume, Felder remains to be one of the finest to have ever played the sport. Despite being retired, Felder can lace up the MMA gloves anytime in his career.

However, there’s no denying that Felder is looking for retirement too. He has a family at home and Felder can hang up his gloves officially for them.

“I am fighting because I love it. I am fighting because I still want that shot at the belt.

“My mom, in particular, is the reason why I would give it up (fighting) and my daughter,” said Felder.
