#1 ranked UFC welterweight contender Gilbert Burns believes that the main event of UFC 251 will be “boring.”

After Gilbert Burns defeated Tyron Woodley, he became the #1 contender in the welterweight division. “Durinho” was scheduled to fight Kamaru Usman at UFC 251. However, Burns was pulled from the card after his COVID-19 test returned positive. As a result, the UFC brought in BMF title-holder Jorge Masvidal to fight Usman.

In a live chat on social media, Burns said that he is excited about the new main event. But he thinks it will be a boring fight. He believes that people will miss him after Saturday night.

“I can’t wait for Saturday too. I hope it will be a good fight but I just think it’s gonna be super boring that you guys [are] gonna miss me, I think it’s gonna be a boring fight Saturday.”

Gilbert Burns picks Kamaru Usman to win

As far as the prediction is concerned, Burns opines that his teammate and friend Kamaru Usman will pick up the win. He then reiterated that Usman vs Masvidal will be disappointing.

“I think Usman [will win] but I just think it’s gonna be a boring fight. I think it’s gonna be a very boring fight and you guys [are] gonna see what I can do with these guys. So it is what it is. I’m good right now.”

Realistically speaking, Kamaru Usman has a strong wrestling game. He relentlessly pressures his opponents with his wrestling. There is a possibility that Usman can hold down Masvidal for the majority of the bout. And this style of fighting may not suit many fans’ taste buds.
