Jeremy Stephens is looking forward to meeting Calvin Kattar, come Saturday.

The two will face off in a featherweight bout on the main card for UFC 249. The event will be aired on ESPN+ PPV. What’s special about this fight night is that it will be the first UFC event to take place amid the ongoing pandemic.

Of course, it’s a novel experience for everyone concerned with the sport. Dana White has set into place many restrictions to ensure that the event goes off smoothly.

And apparently, ‘Lil’ Heathens’ is enjoying the “change.” In the virtual press-conference for UFC 249, he said,

“With this, you know, with a camera in front of me. And I’m on a virtual interview. Getting a swab-test in my nose. That’s a little bit different. But it makes it that much more exciting. I’ve been here [in UFC fights] so many fu**ing times that this is a little bit different. This is kind of that new feeling again. New experiences. It’s kind of fun and exciting to me.”

Jeremy Stephens is looking forward to fighting immediately after beating Calvin Kattar

Stephens is overjoyed with the fact that he is getting to fight, specifically during these times of a worldwide pandemic. He said,

“You sit at home, you die. You start thinking of crazy stuff. Instead of sitting there, I’d rather go out and take action. Do, Do, Do! “

Spoken like a true fighter. Dana White also stated the other day that all the fighters on the card are more than happy about fighting, and that no one was put there against their will.

In fact, Jeremy went to the extent of stating that he would prefer to fight without a crowd. This is because there will be no noise to cancel out what his coaches are saying to him.

He even said he wants to knockout Kattar and fight 3 days later. The next week is full of UFC events, with one on the 13th and the other on the 16th. And much like “Cowboy” Cerrone, it looks like Stephens is looking to make an appearance on all those cards.

Do you think he will be able to knock out Calvin Kattar and proceed with his aim to fight on the upcoming cards?
