Henry Cejudo has been ever-present in combat sports conversations ever since May 9th when he walked away from the UFC. The fighter went to appear at AEW and is even in line for a boxing match against Ryan Garcia. Also, ‘The Messenger’ like every fighter who walks away left the door open to a return. Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski responded and seemingly took multiple jibes at the former 2 division champion. Not one to miss an opportunity to get back, ‘Triple C’ hit back with a massive wager.

Henry Cejudo challenges Alexander Volkanovski

First, ‘Triple C’ declared he would fight ‘The Great’ if he ever returned. He tweeted, “If I ever come back to MMA it’s going to be after your head your overgrown midget.”

The 33-year-old Olympic medalist promised that the Australian would not make it past two rounds. He even put up a wager in this regard.

“I’d bet my Olympic Gold Medal, my two belts and “my first girlfriend ever,” that you wouldn’t make it past two rounds with Triple C!”

Along with tagging the UFC Featherweight champion, Cejudo also plugged in his iconic “bend the knee” hashtag.

Following, ‘The Messenger’s shocker at the UFC 249 co-main event, the UFC stripped him of the Bantamweight Championship. In addition to this, the company expunged him from the rankings. At the time of his retirement, Cejudo was 3rd in the pound for pound rankings only behind Jon Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

A fight for an unprecedented UFC Championship in a 3rd weight division will surely be something to get Cejudo back to fighting. However, he will have to hope that ‘The Great’ is successful in retaining the belt against Max Holloway on Fight Island at UFC 251.

The duo is set to meet in a UFC 245 rematch where ‘Blessed’ fell victim to ‘The Great’ and lost the divisional championship.

Do you see Henry Cejudo actually going through with the challenge and possibly even the wager? If such a fight comes to fruition who will you be backing to have the belt around their waist?
