Mike Perry flares up: A brief history

Mike Perry faced off against Mickey Gall at UFC on ESPN 12 that took place on June 27. The bout had significant fan-fare surrounding it, but it was not tied to the actual fight itself. The fight week offered numerous instances of the 14-6 fighter providing a passionate sound-bite as he clapped back at his nay-sayers.

News broke the Perry had abandoned a traditional gym training system and was hence training with his girlfriend. Not to mention, she was set to be the solitary figure present in his corner for the scheduled fight.

Unsurprisingly, MMA fans and the media were quick to speculate and express their concerns over the unprecedented decision. Additionally, this served as the boiling point for the 170-pounder as he aired his discontentment with being under the microscope.

Following his decision victory against Gall, ‘Platinum’ doubled down on his newfound success, training without a camp. He spoke to the media alongside his girlfriend as he shared his sentiment of vindication. However, it seems as though nearly two weeks removed from these events, Perry still remains vexed.

Moreover, a recent tussle with newly minted Middleweight, Darren Till, has caused further friction for Mike Perry. ‘The Gorilla’ has been constantly jabbing the Welterweight leading to unsavory relations between the two. Till went as far as to create a troll website to mock ‘Platinum’ which the latter deemed unsavory.

The aforementioned events have led to the explosive striker building up resentment towards different factions in the MMA community. On several recent occasions, he has even gone so far as to warn fighters and fans to refrain from mentioning his name.
