Curtis Blaydes overpowered Alexander Volkov in the main event of UFC on ESPN. The bout led many to label it as boring due to ‘Razor’s sheer mat prowess. Among those who panned the clash was UFC President Dana White. It didn’t help that the main event had to be the follow-up act to an intense back and forth Featherweight clash. However, one person who isn’t bothered about the opinions and whispers is the victor himself.

As Blaydes wants a UFC title shot, he will have to focus on longer fights or strengthening his mat game even further. Going the full 25 will surely lead ‘Razor’ to understand that he needs to focus on his conditioning for a longer fight.

Grappling and winning is what makes Blaydes happy. His mindset is akin to an elite athlete who focuses on what helps his game and plays by his strengths rather than pandering to the fans.
