UFC Heavyweight Curtis Blaydes snagged a unanimous decision victory over Alexander Volkov at UFC on ESPN 11. The fight was the headliner for the 3 event taking place at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas.
Although Blaydes triumphed, his most recent victory has drawn criticism from fans and MMA pundits alike.
The main event turned out to be a wrestling clinic that saw Blaydes fatigue towards the end of the 3 round. ‘Razor Blaydes’ secured the record for most takedowns landed in a heavyweight fight.

In light of this achievement, Blaydes would compromise his cardio leading to him being inactive at the back end of the fight.

Curtis Blaydes has now defeated all top contenders in the division except Francis Ngannou. There is no suitable match-up for ‘Razor’ Blaydes.
However, a title shot seems distant. The heavyweight championship will be on the line in August, considering Ngannou is next in line, Blaydes may be out of action for a while.
Dana White was not too pleased with the performance put on by Blaydes. Considering he had spoken a loud game going into the fight, Dana White expected a finish on the horizon.
Curtis Blaydes speaks out
The Heavyweight contender spoke to the media following his victory and gave an idea as to his future in the promotion
“I’m in no rush. I made some good money tonight, I’m good. I’ll wait. I’m not going to make any declarations I don’t know how long it’s going to be so I can’t say how long I’ll wait. But as of right now I’m fine to wait.
“Who else is there? Are you going to give another chance to Derrick Lewis? I’m pretty confident it’s going to be Ngannou vs Stipe, worst-case scenario. Best case scenario, DC and Stipe both retire then it’s me vs Ngannou.”
