Demetrious Johnson is an inspiration for any upcoming fighter. ‘Mighty Mouse’ has a remarkable legacy in MMA. But who inspired him in his initial days? Who was the reason behind one of the nicest individuals to pick up the gloves?

The Flyweight GOAT answered on Ariel Helwani’s show, The MMA Hour.

Johnson revealed, “Andre Arlovski. He had nice hair, chest hair. He had a mouthpiece with things. His rhythm when he moved, his rhythm was just so on point.”

Interestingly, Johnson mentioned that he didn’t like the lighter weight categories and added, “I always loved the heavyweight. Cro Cop, Andre Arlovski… I would come home from college and throw on, I think it was UFC 54, I think he was defending the title, defending the title against Paul Buentello.”

“Also, he fought the guy, his nickname was cabbage… Yeah, Wesley Correira. I watched a lot of Andre Arlovski growing up.”

Mighty Mouse‘ also mentioned Fedor Emelianenko and concluded, “I mean, those guys were f**king amazing, man.”

Demetrious Johnson suggested adjusting to Muay Thai could be a challenge

The ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship winner is going to face the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion in an unprecedented arrangement at the 10-year anniversary show at ONE:X on March 26.

Rodtang is a world-class fierce striker, who has been dominating the Muay Thai scenes for years. However, Johnson’s concern is not Rodtang’s striking, but the hindrance in his natural instincts during the fights due to the special rules.

Johnson revealed that he likes to flow during the fights and has some tendencies in certain positions, like throwing a punch and going low to take down his opponent. However, in this match, in rounds 1 and 3, he can’t be doing the same.

Thus, it would be interesting to see how Johnson performs inside the ONE Circle against Rodtang.
