The American Top Team protégé has recently ended her free agency. After many speculations, including her move to UFC and Bellator, the Olympic gold medalist re-signed with her old promotion. However, she received a mixed reaction to her decision. Many people, including Bellator president Scott Coker, wanted Harrison to dip her hands in some other promotions for better challenges.

Interestingly, to prove Harrison’s potential as a fighter, the PFL co-owner has openly challenged Scott Coker and Cris Cyborg for one of the biggest cross-promotion fights the sports has ever witnessed.

The former UFC women’s featherweight champion Cyborg is regarded as one of the best female fighters in the sport. The 25-2 record holder has won 20 of her fights via a knockout. Also, she had only one loss in the UFC.

After parting from UFC, Cyborg signed with Bellator. She also won the featherweight title and is undefeated in the promotion. Considering all these factors, Cyborg is currently one of the best female fighters in MMA. Hence, clashing against a fighter with such a big name in the sport will hugely benefit Harrison’s resume.

Why Kayla Harrison should fight Cris Cyborg

The multi-time Olympic gold medalist started her MMA career in 2018 at PFL. Within a brief span of time, Harrison became a big name by bagging back-to-back wins. She currently has a perfect MMA record of 12-0, with five submissions and five knockouts under her name.

The American female fighter has proved her dominance in the promotion. However, she is yet to swim the higher waters. Harrison hasn’t yet competed against the top-tier fighters in the game.
