PFL fighter Abigail Montes recently suffered her third professional loss at PFL 9. She went head-to-head against Michelle Montague but saw defeat after the latter submitted her with a rear-naked choke. Moreover, boxing legend Claressa Shields was apparently present at the event and reacted to Montes’ loss on social media.

Abigail Montes achieved a significant feat in the PFL in October 2021. During the said bout, she managed to secure an unexpected victory over Claressa Shields, a former Olympic gold medalist and the reigning undisputed women’s light middleweight boxing champion. Nevertheless, during her most recent match against Michelle Montague, despite a fast-paced and evenly matched contest, Montes was unable to emerge victorious. Moreover, her former rival reacted to the loss.

While the 14-0 boxing star was present during the fight, Montes started to shift her attention from the fight and started talking trash to shields. This did not bode well for ‘Brave’ as she got complacent and got herself caught in a submission position for Michelle Montague to finish her off. Shields later reacted to the fight on Instagram.

The former Olympic champion stated that Abigail Montes should have kept her eye on her opponent instead of talking trash to her. “Damn Abigail should’ve focused on your fight instead of talking sh*t to me on here,” said Claressa Shields. Furthermore, she is set to return to the Smart Cage to fight a former boxing foe.
