Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg launched the new ‘Threads’ app recently, and it has taken the social media space by storm. It can prove to be the biggest rival to Elon Musk‘s Twitter, as former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou tested it firsthand. In a recent post on Threads, the former UFC champion shared a video, taking a dig at the UFC president Dana White.

Francis Ngannou’s struggles with Dana White are well documented. The UFC released ‘The Predator’ earlier this year and a highly public feud followed.

‘The Predator’ announced his arrival on Threads to his fans and even wished his American fans a Happy Independence Day. However, what caught the attention of the MMA community was a post where the Cameroonian-French fighter hinted that he might start taking classes on that platform. He captioned his post, “I think I should teach classes on this app … thoughts?”

Moreover, the thing that he wanted to teach about was the way a fighter can get out of his UFC contract. Furthermore, the post had a video in which Ngannou was seen writing on a chalkboard. He wrote there, “How to get out of a contract.” His fans easily understood this as a dig at the UFC president Dana White. This was a reminder of his struggle in the biggest MMA promotion, where he didn’t feel as if he had the freedom to do anything else other than fighting inside the Octagon.

A brief history of ‘The Predator’s UFC departure

Francis Ngannou wanted to participate in boxing matches during his time in the UFC. He wanted to replicate the same thing that Conor McGregor did back in 2017 but the UFC wasn’t very happy about that. Furthermore, the promotion’s brass even offered him a reported $8 million contract. According to Dana White, that contract would have made Ngannou the highest-earning fighter in the promotion. But ‘The Predator’ declined the offer.
