Kenny Florian was a regular on the UFC broadcast team not so long ago. However, he slowly started getting removed from the team. Now, he has revealed the reason that happened.
Florian joined the UFC after reaching the final of The Ultimate Fighter Season 1. He lost the final to Diego Sanchez via TKO in the first round. ‘KenFlo’ went on a three-fight win streak after the defeat and earned himself a title shot. But he came up short after being dominated for five rounds by Sean Sherk. Florian won his next six fights and got another shot at the lightweight championship. However, he came up short again.
He retired from active competition in 2011 and started working as a broadcaster and analyst. In an interview, he said, “My understanding — and this is what’s been told to me from people inside the company — I guess I said no to being a coach… I was asked to coach on, I think, The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, one of the early ones back in the day. I wasn’t able to do it.”

“It just didn’t make sense, and because I said no, I kind of slowly started being removed from stuff. That’s my understanding. That’s what’s been told to me — not directly, but by people within the company who are close to the source. But I guess that’s how it went down.”
Kenny Florian signed with the Professional Fighters League
