After a notorious showdown at UFC 246, we go to Raleigh, North Carolina for the next UFC event. UFC Raleigh features a heavyweight main event between ranked no 3, Curtis Blaydes and former champion, Junior Dos Santos. In the co-main event, former lightweight champion, Rafael Dos Anjos takes on Michael Chiesa who is relatively new to the welterweight division. UFC Raleigh looks promising on the paper, but we will have to wait and see what kind of carnage takes place inside the octagon on January 25.

UFC Fight Night 166 takes place in the PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina. Starting with the main event, both Curtis Blaydes and Junior Dos Santos will be looking to secure a win and get one step closer to the title shot. Stipe Miocic is going to defend the title next against Daniel Cormier. At this moment other than Francis Ngannou there is no strong contender for the title at the heavyweight division. However, with a win over former champion, Junior Dos Santos, Blaydes can solidify his position as a top contender for the title. Similarly, JDS will be looking to get back on the winning streak after the loss to Francis Ngannou. Both Blaydes and Dos Santos have suffered defeat in the hands of Ngannou. So even with a win, they are not likely to get a title shot next.

In the co-main event, UFC veteran, Rafael Dos Anjos takes on Michael Chiesa. This is an intriguing matchup. Michael Chiesa has looked phenomenal ever since he has moved up to welterweight division. With wins over Carlos Condit and Diego Sanchez, Chiesa is emerging as a strong contender at the welterweight division. However, he will meet his toughest test yet when he comes face to face against the battle-tested, Rafael dos Anjos. Though Dos Anjos has lost most of his last few fights he is still as lethal as he once was at 170. He ruined the welterweight debut of Kevin Lee who has a win over Chiesa at lightweight. So it will be interesting to see how Dos Anjos handles the grappling of Chiesa in a 3 round fight.
