Wiman first made his debut in the UFC back in 2006 at UFC 60 – Hughes vs. Gracie. Although his debut started with a loss, Wiman would go on for an impressive 10-5 record over 15 fights. Some of his most notable wins have been against Mac Danzig, Cole Miller, Thiago Tavares, Justin Buchholz, and Isaac Vallie-Flagg.

‘Handsome’ Matt Wiman released by the UFC

The Oklahoma native went on a five-year hiatus with his last fight being a win over Isaac Vallie-Flagg in 2014. In June 2019, Wiman returned to face Luis Pena. At UFC Fight Night 154 – Moicano vs. The Korean Zombie, Pena secured a third-round TKO victory. ‘Handsom’ Matt Wiman would then lose a decision to Joe Solecki to close out the year.

This is quite an unprecedented time for the company. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit every business and sport alike. The UFC has done admirably well to keep things running without laying off any of their employees. However, it looks like the UFC will trim its bloated roster before heading into 2021.
