After the victorious return of Conor McGregor at UFC 246, fans have started discussing how the rematch between Conor and Khabib would play out. UFC president, Dana White also believes that Conor will fight for the lightweight title next and the rematch of Khabib vs Conor is the fight to make. However, the rematch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will take place if the champion gets past Tony Ferguson who is the toughest opponent in Khabib’s MMA career yet. It seems fans are sleeping on the Boogey Man of the lightweight division amidst all talks about the mega rematch between Conor and Khabib.
Well, Tony Ferguson reminded the fans that he plans on spoiling the party for them who are expecting Conor to fight Khabib for the title after UFC 249. Earlier, Tony Ferguson posted this on social media:

Things are getting really interesting in the lightweight division. We have a much-anticipated fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson coming up in April. And the winner is likely to fight Conor McGregor with the title on the line. That seems very likely to happen. But if Khabib wins the fight he will be available to defend his title again in the later part of this year. Meanwhile, Conor McGregor who is planning to stay busy and fight 3 times this year might not wait for that long to get back into the octagon. So he can fight either Justin Gaethje or Jorge Masvidal. However, if Ferguson beats Khabib Nurmagomedov the whole dynamics of the division will change. Conor will have to take on Ferguson if he wants to get the lightweight title.
Though speculating a rematch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is exciting how could someone sleep on Tony Ferguson who has been unbeaten since 2012.
