UFC middleweight Uriah Hall spoke out via a think piece put on by the UFC heading into his main event feature. The 36-year-old will face off against MMA royalty in Anderson Silva on the UFC’s first Halloween card. Additionally, the bout is expected to be the final time ‘The Spider’ steps into the UFC’s cage. To say that the bout will have eyeballs on it would be an understatement.
Hall has long been compared to ‘The Spider’ and it’s only fitting that he serves as his final UFC opponent. Ever since his incredibly noteworthy run on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, Uriah has been looking to truly actualize his potential. However, he’s not been able to maintain a level of consistency required to climb the middleweight ranks.

Uriah Hall speaks out on his training
The dynamic 185-pound fighter has moved around camps throughout his tenured run inside the promotion. However, it seems as though he might have finally found his home with the Dallas based outfit Fortis MMA. Hall spoke out on the training leading up to his bout with ‘The Spider’ and it seems as though he’s prepared.

“It’s discipline and structure. We show up, we get the work done, and we get out. We have a plan, we have a formula, and we stick with it. It’s just consistency,” he added. “If you’re consistent with anything, I think you’re going to get better. It’s consistency with the work, the work ethic, the people, and the discipline.”
Furthermore, Uriah Hall spoke out on working with Michael Scaccia on his strength and conditioning. Hall believes that improved conditioning goes a long way in preparing his mind for combat. Chiefly, his inability to ‘show up’ for fights has been a criticism that he’s drawn throughout his career.

“Working with Michael Scaccia not only improved my physical capabilities but my mental state of mind,” explained Hall. I know a lot of athletes go in there and they don’t feel 100 percent, but I don’t remember the last time I felt 100 percent; it’s probably the last fight on The Ultimate Fighter was the last time I felt 100 percent.”
“With the training that I’ve been getting there, he’s strengthening certain weak areas and I feel like a beast”
“We’re here to do work”
The 16-9 fighter also made it clear that he wasn’t concerning himself with people’s opinions heading into the fight. Stepping in the cage with Silva can be a daunting task, but Uriah is focused on his preparation.

“We have a short life span in this [sport], and we can only go so far,” began Hall. “If our body doesn’t destroy us, the critics, the media will play a part in destroying our careers. So, with all due respect to everybody, ‘**** everybody.’ We’re here to do work and do our best.”

Anderson Silva’s likely retirement from the UFC will create a position of increased viewership for the aforementioned Fight Night card. Hall will look at this as an opportunity to seize the day and begin a thunderous ascent towards the belt. He’s riding a two-fight win streak and a marquee win over the former champion will elevate his stock.
