UFC light heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira is now on a five-fight win streak after tapping out Thiago Santos. The aforementioned 205-pounders headlined UFC Vegas 13 and certainly gave the fans an all-time classic match-up. Santos’ power was on full display as he dropped Glover twice in their fight. However, the crafty veteran in Teixeira was tenacious and repeatedly grounded ‘Marreta’ to the canvas where he was eventually submitted.

Not to mention, the win has put Glover in line to face the divisional champion for the undisputed champion. However, with the news that Israel Adesanya will move to light heavyweight, Glover’s shot at gold may be delayed. Chiefly, after his submission win over Thiago, he’s more than deserved a chance to sit out and wait.
Twitter reacts to Glover Teixeira submitting ‘Marreta’ Santos
The 205-pound champion in Jan Blachowicz impressed with Glover’s run at the age of 41 and shared his appreciation on Twitter. Moreover, he welcomed the Brazilian to make his attempt at swiping away the light heavyweight belt.

Additionally, the former divisional champion in Jon Jones was firing off his views on Twitter and taken up by Glover’s performance. Furthermore, he explained that he was glad to have Teixeira’s name on his own resume.

In light of his performance, it will be difficult to deny Glover his shot at Jan Blachowicz. What’s more, the light heavyweight division has picked up steam and this could cause complications in his timeline to return.
